Adelaide Qualified

Hi, I'm Talha — the optometrist behind Advanced i Care.

I started this service to make eye tests more convenient and less stressful for people around Adelaide. As a qualified optometrist with extensive experience working in clinical care, I've seen how difficult it can be for some people to get their eye test done — especially the elderly, parents with young kids, busy workers, and those with health issues.

That's why we bring professional mobile optometry straight to your door.

No travel. No waiting rooms. No unnecessary stress. Just thorough, respectful eye care — delivered to you.

I'm passionate about making eye care more human and more accessible. When you book with Advanced i Care, you're not just a number. You're a person, and I'm here to make sure you feel comfortable, informed, and looked after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mobile Eye Care, Explained Simply

From aged care clinics to private home visits, here's how Advanced i Care brings professional optometry directly to patients across Adelaide.

Are mobile eye tests bulk billed?

Examinations are generally bulk billed to Medicare when they are part of a pre-organised aged care clinic, or requested from one of our partnered aged care facility locations.

For private home visits or visits to non-partnered facility locations, a call-out fee applies. We'll always confirm any costs before the appointment is booked.

Do you check the health of the eye?

Yes. Every appointment includes a thorough eye health assessment, not just a vision check. We examine for conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and other ocular conditions that can affect sight and overall health.

Early detection is particularly important for older patients, where many of these conditions develop gradually without obvious symptoms. If anything of concern is found, we will advise on next steps and arrange a referral where needed.

Is this a full eye test or just a basic screening?

It's a comprehensive optometry appointment, not just a quick vision screen. We check vision, update glasses prescriptions, assess eye health and advise on next steps if further care is needed.

Do you visit aged care facilities?

Yes. We provide on-site eye clinics for aged care facilities across Adelaide. We can help with resident scheduling, family consent, eye exams, glasses fitting, reports and follow-up care.

How can aged care facilities become a partnered facility?

Facilities can partner with us by getting in touch directly to discuss their residents' needs. We'll arrange an initial consultation, outline how our on-site clinic model works, and set up a regular visiting schedule that suits your facility.

Partnered facilities benefit from regular bulk billed Medicare examinations for residents, no call out fees, coordinated scheduling, and ongoing optometry support without residents needing to leave the facility.

Can you come to someone's home?

Yes. We provide mobile eye tests at home for people who may find it difficult to travel to a clinic, including older adults, people with mobility issues and patients needing extra support.

How does a mobile eye test work?

We bring portable optometry equipment to the home or facility, complete the eye exam, discuss the results, and organise glasses or referrals if required.

Can you organise glasses after the appointment?

Yes. If glasses are needed, we can help choose suitable frames, take measurements, arrange the lenses and deliver the completed glasses once they are ready.

How long do glasses take to arrive?

Most glasses are ready in approximately 3–4 weeks, depending on the prescription, lens type and lab turnaround times.

What happens if further eye care is needed?

If we detect something that needs further attention, we can arrange a referral to the patient's GP, ophthalmologist or another appropriate health professional.
