Mobile Optometry · Adelaide
A comprehensive eye exam is far more than a simple vision check. It's a full clinical assessment of your eye health — covering visual acuity, internal eye structures, eye pressure, and early signs of disease. Conditions like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration can develop silently, with no symptoms until significant damage has occurred. Regular eye exams are one of the most effective ways to catch them early.
At Advanced i Care, we bring this level of professional optometry directly to you. Our mobile optometrists service all of Adelaide — visiting patients at home, in aged care facilities, disability accommodation, and hospitals across the metro area. You receive a full clinical eye examination using the same equipment found in a traditional practice, without needing to travel.
Poor vision significantly affects independence, safety, and quality of life — especially for elderly patients and those managing chronic conditions like diabetes. Access to an optometrist shouldn't depend on your ability to drive or arrange transport. That's why we come to you.
How Often Should You Test?
What's Included
A full clinical assessment — no referrals, no waiting rooms, no travel.
We measure how clearly you see at distance and near, identifying whether you need a new prescription or corrective lenses for the first time. Clear vision affects everything — driving, reading, and daily independence.
We measure intraocular pressure and assess the optic nerve for damage. Glaucoma causes permanent vision loss but rarely has early symptoms — screening is the only way to detect it before irreversible harm occurs.
We determine and refine your glasses or contact lens prescription with precision. If you need new spectacles, frames can be selected on the spot and delivered directly to your door within 2–3 weeks.
Diabetes can damage the small blood vessels in the retina, leading to diabetic retinopathy and eventual blindness. We examine the retina for early warning signs — recommended annually for all people living with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
For patients whose vision cannot be fully corrected with standard glasses, we assess remaining functional vision and recommend aids — magnifiers, specialised lenses, lighting solutions — to maximise independence and quality of life.
We examine the full health of your eyes — cornea, lens, retina, and optic nerve — screening for cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, and other conditions that become increasingly common with age.
